About the Role

The Company is seeking a Managing Director of Communications to lead the strategic development and execution of messaging and media campaigns that support the organization's mission of fighting for a more fair and equitable society. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing day-to-day management of the communications team, including specialists in project-area communications, media relations, and digital communications. This role involves translating complex legal concepts into accessible narratives, leading annual communications planning, and ensuring the organization's voice and brand are effectively represented. The Managing Director will also be a key partner in anticipating and responding to breaking news events and will work closely with the executive team to develop and deliver organizational messages. Applicants for the Managing Director of Communications position at the company should have a minimum of 5 years' experience in communications, public relations, or marketing, preferably within a non-profit or government setting. The role requires exceptional writing, editing, and communication skills, as well as a strong attention to detail and the ability to work with diverse communities.
