As we prepare for the 20252026 school year, we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Psychologist to join our team of professionals committed to fostering student growth and success.
The School Psychologist will play a vital role in supporting the academic, behavioral, and emotional well-being of students across the district. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive psychological services including assessments, counseling, consultation, and intervention development in collaboration with educators, families, and administrators.
Conduct psychoeducational assessments and interpret data to determine eligibility for special education services.
Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
Provide direct and indirect counseling services to students, including crisis intervention and behavior management strategies.
Consult with teachers, parents, and administrators to support student learning and mental health.
Support the implementation of evidence-based academic and behavioral interventions.
Assist in the development of 504 Plans and conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs).
Promote culturally responsive practices and equity in psychological services.
Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with federal, state, and district guidelines.
Masters or Specialist-level degree (Ed.S., M.S., M.A.) in School Psychology from a NASP-approved program.
Valid Louisiana Department of Education School Psychologist Certificate or eligibility for certification.
Strong knowledge of psychoeducational evaluation tools and practices.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.
Experience in a PreK12 educational setting preferred.
