Job Description

Description

CreativeX is transforming how brands and creators bring their ideas to life through Creative Studio, our state of the art suite of AI-powered creative tools. Our vision for the Creative Studio to empower people to achieve more faster, with tools that feel as intuitive and inspiring as working with a creative partner.

We are seeking a Principal UX Designer who thrives on building delightful experiences designed for a diverse set of creatives. You will lead by doing - rolling up your sleeves to design, prototype, and deliver user experiences that transform advertising.

In this role, you will move fluidly from high-level strategy to pixel-level execution, getting your work into customers' hands quickly and learning from their feedback. You will thrive in a start-up-like environment, unblocking yourself, navigating ambiguity, and maintaining a relentless focus on delivering high-quality, real-world experiences. Your deep knowledge of generative AI will help shape how we build the next wave of agentic, creative-focused solutions.

This role is based in New York, NY or Seattle, WA.

Key job responsibilities

  • Define and own the design vision and strategy for the Creative Studio, empowering customers with generative AI and agents

  • Lead hands-on design execution - from wireframes to polished prototypes to production-ready assets

  • Rapidly explore, build, and validate ideas to uncover the best interaction models for AI-driven creativity

  • Design elegant, intuitive, and trustworthy user experiences that seamlessly fit into creative and advertising workflows

  • Collaborate deeply with engineering, applied science, research, and product teams to align on goals and drive execution

  • Operate independently, proactively unblocking yourself and delivering high-quality solutions

  • Champion inclusive, responsible, and scalable AI-driven design practices

  • Mentor other designers while modeling a builder mindset: speed, creativity, and a bias for action

  • Advocate for the unique needs of advertising asset creators and creative professionals

About the team

CreativeX is a nimble, interdisciplinary organization of engineers, scientists, designers, and researchers. We operate like a startup within Amazon, valuing experimentation, customer obsession, and high-velocity shipping. Creative Studio is our flagship offering, enabling brands and creators to produce better work faster, through the power of generative AI and agentic creative solutions.

Basic Qualifications

  • 10+ years of UX/product design experience with leadership in complex or technical domains

  • A portfolio demonstrating exceptional design thinking, polished interface craftsmanship, and impactful prototypes

  • Proven ability to deliver end-to-end designs for shipped products

  • Familiarity with creative production tools (e.g., Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, motion or 3D tools)

  • Interest in the workflows and challenges of advertising asset creation

  • Experience designing tools or systems that incorporate AI/ML

  • Ability to operate independently, self-direct, and move fast in ambiguous environments

  • Excellent collaboration, storytelling, and communication skills, with the ability to influence diverse stakeholders

  • Experience applying user research to drive iterative design decisions

  • Deep curiosity about and familiarity with generative AI

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience prototyping with front-end technologies (HTML/CSS/JavaScript or similar)

  • Exposure to agentic systems, conversational interfaces, or LLM-powered workflows

  • Familiarity with responsible AI principles, including safety, fairness, and transparency

  • Proven mentorship and leadership skills while staying hands-on

  • Passion for empowering creative professionals with beautifully crafted, high-velocity tools
