Director of Communications This is a full-time position offering a salary commensurate with experience and outstanding benefits in a faith-based, grace-filled work environment. The Director of Communications oversees the development, execution, and delivery of all creative assets and church communication. The role involves managing priorities and projects, developing HPUMC’s communication strategy, and inspiring creative excellence in others. The Director will lead the Communications team to produce engaging content for ministries, congregants, and the community. Responsibilities include managing online strategies, acting as a liaison with media, and maintaining brand standards aligned with the church's mission. Reports To: Executive Director, Operations and CFO FLSA Status: Exempt Campus: Mockingbird Working Hours: On-site, at least 36 hours/week, typically Monday-Thursday 8:30 am – 5 pm, with additional hours during certain times of the year, including holidays. Responsibilities include: Promoting HPUMC’s messages and brand across all resources. Managing and supervising the Communications team. Developing creative concepts and strategies for internal and external communication. Overseeing digital content including website, social media, and email campaigns. Maintaining brand standards and creating content workflows. Mentoring team members and managing vendor relationships. Supporting the church’s cultural values in all communications. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, design, or related field. Proven success in managing creative teams and 10+ years of relevant experience. Strong leadership, communication, and strategic skills. Knowledge of content marketing, digital advertising, and social media. Must be a committed Christian comfortable working in a United Methodist Church. Ability to work nights and weekends as needed. Preferred Software Skills: Adobe Creative Suite Google and Microsoft Office Suites Physical Demands: Sitting, standing, walking, seeing, hearing, speaking, lifting up to 10 pounds, fine motor skills. Other Qualifications: Must be a committed Christian with a church home, willing to spend occasional Sundays onsite, and exemplify the gospel in demeanor and work ethic.
